Weyburn’s project has grown substantially since their first year. The project has created stability over the last few years which has been proven to be a benefit. They have a good process built that has had lots of success. This project has been proudly helping new job seekers gain meaningful employment in Weyburn and surrounding areas, showing businesses what it does for your business to hire inclusively, and ensuring to support both employees and employers with anything they need along the way.

This month we are featuring Danielle who has found great success working at Creekside Carwash in Weyburn.

SETI project leads Ryan and Cassidy sat down with Danielle and talked a little bit about her journey to employment. Danielle had the following answers to Ryan and Cassidy’s questions.

What do you love about your job/career?

How big the smiles are when I do my job. It shows that hard work is appreciated, and when an establishment is clean, it is welcoming to customers.

What support from your employment specialist led to this story?

Ryan and Cassidy helped me get a job first of all, then taught and showed me how to work hard and what it takes to be a good worker. I would consider them great teachers and want to thank them for all the support they have shown me.

What did your employment journey look like?

I had a rough patch for a bit, but once they (Ryan and Cassidy) helped me find a job, I was good to go. They support me with rides when I need it, and their advice has helped me so much.

How does your work fit with your values and lifestyle?

Tells me a lot about hard work. I was told once that nothing good comes easy. I love to see the progress, it is fufilling and gives me a purpose.

What are some of the rewards of your career?

The extra money helps me buy supplies for my hobbies (art, drawing, music) and also to buy my guilty pleasure Ramen. I also am saving up for some bigger projects.

How does your employer support you?

My employers at Creekside are very easy going. They pick me up if I am down and are very approachable if I need help with anything.
