Premier Announces Investment to CBO Sector Sep 11, 2008

Premier Brad Wall announced an extra $18.3 million for agencies across the province providing crucial services to people in need. Of that amount, $13.1 million will be geared toward employee compensation.

This is good news for SARC Member Agencies (which are included in this broad group of agencies); however, there is still more work to be done to address recruitment and retention challenges.

Each year, the Al McGuire Awards are presented to individuals with disabilities who have shown the dedication and hard work necessary to make the improvements they want in their lives.

On June 14, 2008, the Saskatchewan Association of Rehabilitation Centres presented its annual Volunteer of Distinction Award to Gerald Griffiths, Mallard Diversified Services, Wadena, for his outstanding, long-term commitment to individuals with disabilities.

Between Unified Dairy Recycling System donations based on milk container returns to SARCAN for the month of February and the sale of Helping Hands, $46,626.72 was raised this year for Telemiracle.

SARCAN Recycling today celebrated the historic accomplishment of recycling its four billionth beverage container in Saskatchewan. The occasion was marked in a ceremony at the grand opening of the new SARCAN Recycling Depot in Swift Current.
