Brief Organization Description:	Opened in 1976 to serve the needs of people from Wadena and the surrounding area, we have grown to include three group homes and a Supportive Living Program. In addition, we own the laundromat and dry cleaners in Wadena, which offers employment to two of participants. We also have an active Supportive Employment Department which has obtained 6 jobs in Wadena for our participants. We are run by a nine member Board which represents Wadena and three surrounding communities. Our mandate is to provide training opportunities, employment, and residential options for adults with intellectual disabilities.
Specific Programs Offered:	Mallard Diversified Services Inc. is comprised of the following work areas: CATERING DEPARTMENT that caters to banquets, lunches, weddings, and funerals; HEAVY INDUSTRY DEPARTMENT that manufactures pallets for local industry; SHOE REPAIR DEPARTMENT that resoles and repairs boots and shoes and manufacture and repairs tarps and swather canvas; RECYCLING that operates a recycling service for the Regional Landfill Committee; and SARCAN. In addition, we operate three group homes and a Supported Living Program for nine participants.
